The Global Education Collaborative

Helping Teachers and Students Reach the World

Hi Everyone -

I'm tentatively planning a second global ed panel, probably to be hosted in the Learn Central web site, for October. The theme for October will probably focus on curriculum.

I'd like to make this topic fairly open to interpretation, but here are a few questions we could ponder:

What does a globally infused curriculum look like?
What resources are out there to support global studies programs?
What would a global awareness curriculum look like, if such an animal exists?

I'm also thinking that our November theme could focus on service learning and/or social justice.

If you or your organization would be interested in participating on the October or November panel as a presenter, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi Lucy!

I might have something to offer the November panel. I'm currently working with a grant-funded consortium of local schools committed to promoting & supporting school & community service learning initiatives in Southern New Jersey. I'm advising them on social media strategy and also doing professional development workshops. It's been a fascinating project so far - would love to share what I've learned! Let me know!

I would love to be a part of the Service Learning panel in November when you organize it! Just putting in my bid early... ;-)

I presented at the Texas Service Learning Summer Institute in June. I've also presented at the National Service Learning Conference. And, between my work with Jane, R&S, and PBI, I'd love to help with this one.

Yes, please include me in your plans for the panel regarding Service-Learning. Our district program is now in its 19th year in North Olmsted, Ohio.
