Matthew, if you haven't done so already, you might want to check out ePals. They have a project called "the way we are" that would seem to fit your objectives. I've had mixed success with ePals. If you are pro-active and seek out partners by conta...

Great, Matthew! We could even start planning now and have the activities set up so that people have plenty of time to plan. It's totally up to you...

Hey Matthew -

What if we organized something simple using a different tool each month? I'm no longer working directly in a school, but I could easily find some partners or have my own children participate.

Here are some ideas:

1) add your school to a Google Map
2) create a group in Flickr and upload a picture of your school, or we could have themes such as food, playgrounds, games and classes would upload a theme picture every month accompanied by a written description
3) create a podcast channel (Podomatic maybe?) where classes all contribute something on a theme
4) do a global bookclub and incorporate something like Bookcrossing?

These are just a few ideas. I also suggest you check out Rock Our World: http://globaleducation.ning.com/profile/RockOurWorld
