rusty French and German
Favorite Education Resources:
open courses via video (e.g., Yale) and podcasts (e.g., Univ. of Pennsylvania); electronic journal libraries;conferences; peer-led study groups
About Me:
I am by training a developmental and cognitive psychologist; I have worked in academics as a faculty member and now as an administrator. I am the parent of one child who is a college sophomore and one who is a high school junior.

I am particularly interested in resources and programs that are innovative in educating our youth and young adults for embracing, contributing to and flourishing in what seems to be an increasingly global society. New models of "study abroad" that help students learn more in depth about other cultures, societies, ethnicities, forms of governance, models of conflict resolution, approaches to social justice, etc. also interest me - including "internationalizing" the curriculum and individual courses offered at our universities as well as deeper learning opportunities for our students outside of our borders.

Hi Marjorie -

Welcome to our ning! I read your profile and immediately thought of my friend, Dr. Mike Searson, at Kean University. He is doing a lot with international education and student travel via iStory tours. He just left for Peru with a group of students and might find his blog interesting: http://web.mac.com/michaelsearson/iWeb/iStory%20Tour%3A%20Costa%20Rica/Welcome.html. Mike is also a member of this Ning if you'd like to send him a message here.

Also, check out the links we're bookmarking in del.icio.us on the front page's lower right-hand corner. You can also see a full list of resources at: http://del.icio.us/tag/globaleducation

Let me know if you have any questions or need help!
