We live on the U.S. Department of Energy's website. Currently, we have partnered with a few Graduate Engineer students at Georgia Tech. They will travel to Ghana this summer to work with our students to build a Biodiesel Fuel Processor. Students will collect Palm Kernels to produce bio diesel fuel which will be used power electricity at the school through a diesel generator.
Check www.dumpongbiofuels.org It's an excellent resource if anyone is interested on learning more....
About Me:
Educator....collaborated on project that led to development of Youth Institute of Science & Technology-based in Agogo, Ghana. School was opened in October 2006. Thank you to the many educators around the world that helped to make this school a reality. "Stony the road, we trod...."
Akosua it is nice to meet you. Would you mind if I posted some of these photos to the Flickr photosharing group Reinventing Project-Based Learning? It is interesting to see what goes on in the Youth Institute, would like to share with others.
Welcome, Akosua! I'm so glad to get more African representation here! Please spread the word about this site as we're looking to increase the pool of participants and thus increase opportunities for collaboration.
I'm the lead tech coach at a set of schools that might be interested in collaborating in some way. We have a terrific digital media after school program with its own Ning for students; perhaps you'd be interested in developing a pen pal program with these kids.
Greetings everyone...Always looking for other educators that are interested in Pen Pal programs (handwritten letters), exchange projects, cultural study tours & visits to Ghana, curriculum exchanges, classroom support projects such as donations-collections, etc. Have a Pleasant Day!!!
