About Me:
Professional educator with previous experience teaching 7 periods per day in a high school system that conforms to what was defined as "normal", with one-to-many learning methodologies. The only tech available at that time was overhead and slide projectors, 16mm & 8mm film, TV, tape recorders, and stage microphones. Sports dominated the scene. My awareness dramatically changed when I was the co-grant writer and co-administrator with the district AV guy for a program called "Arizona Showcase", which ended up going all the way to Washington, D.C., and we occupied the 3rd floor of the JFK Center For The Performing Arts for one week with the public and dignitaries streaming through. I was astounded by the general lack of awareness on the public's part for how media and technology could deliver a message from one consciousness to another, and as I watched the reactions to the Showcase by young and old alike, I realized that my own future needed to include many more of the tools I had used to bring this story to Washington. From that point I have followed technology in education as closely as possible, and am now responsible for the online training of teachers in the delivery of hosted college prep courses for a major university system, and for assisting with the packaging of the courses for delivery to students. Onward *:-)

Am I Global?

Pretty much so, IMHO. In a previous employment position, I traveled the world, interacted deeply with vendors and customers in each country, and spent quite a bit of time with local colleagues. Has anyone here at Global Education Collaborative prepared and presented a definition of "Global" that we all are agreed upon? How can I search for that here, eh? Any reply is welcome *:-)

My favorite playwright, Mr. Shakespeare, says:

"O! This learning, what a thing it is."

William Shakespeare, The Taming of the Shrew, 1597

It is true, I am addicted to learning *:-)

Have Fun *:-)

No Choice! No Escape! No Retreat! *:-)

2008 is fast upon us, and I am hopeful that my presence here within The Global Education Collaborative will be fun and rewarding, in both directions *:-)

Best regards to all of us for a wonderful 2008.
